As we know that Australian Government has decided to lift the travel ban from the country that was imposed during the pandemic. But what happened.?
They are now facing a huge shortage of manpower, especially in Agricultural Sector. While to recover from the situation, they need to hire a workforce on an immediate basis.
Keeping in mind the future plans, they have introduced Australian Agriculture Work Visa Program. Although it’s a temporary work visa program.
But in near future, it may be updated accordingly and can easily lead workers toward getting PR. Today, I decided to cover this topic for those who want to work in the agriculture sector of Australia.
How to Apply for the Australian Agriculture Program.?
Things are not finalized yet, and authorities have not released any specific criteria or procedures to apply for this program. They are in contact with related members, to sum up, things and to release a schedule.
So, willing applicants will have to wait till April 2022, Authorities are in the final phase of getting things to be done accordingly. You will receive updates about the Visa Program on the official website of DFAT.
-> Requirments for Agriculture Program:
- Applicant must meet the age requirement of a minimum of 21 years.
- Applicant must have relevant skills and experience in Agriculture Industry.
- Applicant must have proficiency in the English Language.
- Applicants are not allowed to bring family members to Australia.
- Applicant must be physically fit with no health disease or issues.
-> Who Can Apply for Agriculture Program:
The Government Authorities are in discussion with different countries from Southeast Asia, Indonesia, and some others for the recruitment process.
There is no update so far about the specific countries, but we may expect people from different countries who may be able to apply for the Australian Agriculture Work Visa Program for the year 2022.
-> Sectors Covered In the Australian Agriculture Program:
- In the beginning, recruiters will consider Low Skilled individuals and will step further toward highly skilled individuals.
- It will include, Skilled, Low Skilled, and Semi Skilled individuals.
- Sectors will include horticulture, dairy, wool, grains, fisheries, forestry, and many others.
-> Accommodation Facilities:
Following the rules of the Australian Agriculture Visa Program, DFAT has approved a notice of providing suitable and affordable accommodation to workers. Even workers are also allowed to arrange the accommodation on their own.
-> What’s about PR (Permanent Residency):
Although this program is not based on PR so far, definitely yes, there will be certain options for employees to apply for a Permanent Residency.
The Government Authorities will make the proper announcement of Permanent Residency during the different schedules of the Agriculture Program.
